Most competitions face with organizational problems on different stages of realization. In the paper, we analyze the procedure of organizing student project competition (on the example of the student project competition «LUCH»), highlight vulnerabilities and analyze the existing techniques of experts’ selection. Furthermore, we develop the most appropriate methodology for the SPC (Student Project Competition) «LUCH» and elaborate the project selection criteria, as well as necessary accompanying documentation. The thesis is aimed at elaborating organization and realization proposals for the SPC «LUCH» competition. In order to reach this goal, we design a new evaluation criteria system for the SPC «LUCH» in particular and describe a new organization procedure of SPC in general. Organization and realization process of the SPC «LUCH» is the object of the research. A prepared recommendation to student project evaluation by experts and description of the project competition organization are the intellectual products of the thesis. We carried out a qualitative research of expert evaluation based on the focus group method. Particularly, we presented an analysis of existing organizational procedures of competitions and project evaluation criteria, conducted a focus group with experts from one of the student project competitions, and developed universal criteria for evaluating student projects, which could be tested on one of the future student projects competitions in the Russian Federation. The results of the master's thesis are the elaborated system of criteria for evaluating student projects, recommendations for experts for the use of these criteria, as well as proposals for the organization and realization of the student project competitions.
