Development of a Device for Visual Indication of the Voice Loudness Level for Conducting Methodical Exercises on Correcting Speech Defects

Student: Krylov Mikhail

Supervisor: Sergey Safonov

Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Information Science and Computation Technology (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2017

The object of work is to develop a device for working with children with speech impairments, on the principle of restoring the connection between perceived and extracted sound, introducing a visual component for compensation and self-esteem. The goal of the work is the compilation of algorithms and the development of a hardware-software method for indicating the psychoacoustic level of sound. In the course of the work, the interrelationships between the psychoacoustic volume level and the detected sound pressure level were studied, the device component diagrams, the algorithms, the Arduino C ++ program, the modeling of the main components of the device were calculated and compiled. The results of the work can be useful in developing tools for assessing the psychoacoustic effect of sound.
