Selfgovernance as an Organizational Model of Political Communities by the Example of the Russian Ecovillages

In the work we study the ability of people to voluntary implement basic functions of a political comunity, which include the provision of internal and external order, conflict resolution, the provision of public goods and taxes. According to the mainstream political science theories and studies, only hyerarchical communities are able to realize the functions. Nevertheless, there are successfull practices of self-governing communities, which are the objects of this study. The work attempts to refine the theory of state through the method of multiple cases study of the Russian eco-villages.
