The System of International Relations in the Russian Empire in 1817-1859 by the Example of Customs Practice of Free Economic Zone Porto Franco in Odessa

The purpose of this study was to clarify features of the process of interrelations between free economic zone in Odessa Sea Port and system of International Relations in of the Russian Empire in the 1817 – 1859. The main purpose of the study was setting of priorities of international trade. Efforts of this study includes the following goals: 1. Analysis of the causes and triggers of the free economic zone in Odessa. 2. Investigation of terms and conditions of free economic zone. 3. Indicate correlations between International Relations in the Russian Empire and functioning of the special free economic zone in Odessa Sea Port. This thesis includes an introduction, two chapters and outcome conclusion. In the Introduction to the master’s thesis showed the importance of the studies, raised the problems, goal, and methods of research. Showed historiography sources of the focused field of study. In the first chapter recalls the background of the development of international trade with a special focus of “Porto Franko” regime. Showed understanding of free economic zone term in studies of deferent researchers, identified prerequisites and difficulties of operation of the free economic zone in Odessa Sea Port. Moreover, the study seeks to classify and analyze causes of the expediency of free economic zone in Odessa. Showed historical conditions and political principles of existence of free economic zone in Odessa. In the second chapter free economic zone in Odessa Sea Port showed as an important chain of international trade traffic. Displayed its role and value as well as the correlation of efficacy of operating of Odessa free economic zone and International relations of the Russian Empire.
