An Act of Terrorism and Terrorist Crimes: Similarities and Differences

Abstract. The study was carried out in the sphere of combating terrorism. The aim of the work is to identify the most successful or, on the contrary, imperfect legislative structures and solutions in the current legislation of the Russian Federation. The work is devoted to the study and qualification of a terrorism-related crimes in the modern criminal legislation of the Russian Federation. The study focuses on the definition of the terrorism-related crimes and provides a list of these crimes, analyzing the foreign legislation on this issue. Also, the work gives a criminal-legal characterization of each crime: a terrorist act, adjacent crimes and other terrorism-related crimes. In addition, the work raises questions of the qualifications of these crimes and the ways to solve them on the basis of scientific works, jurisprudence and legislation of foreign countries. According to the results of the study of the way, solutions are proposed for problems that have arisen through the introduction of certain changes in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
