Comparative Analysis of Urban Environmental Quality Assessment Methods in Russia

The research paper deals with complex investigation of urban environment and its evaluation practices. Author examines discrepancy between Russian systems of urban environment evaluation and modern theoretical concepts of quality of urban areas. The main part of the work consists of comparative study of urban area evaluation theoretical frameworks. After this step American «Measuring urban design qualities» and Russian «List of development indicators of housing services and quality maintenance of cities» frameworks are applied to the case of Yaroslavl city. Finally the conceptual target metrics for urban environment formation and evaluation are proposed.
