Reforms and Mobility: Impact of National Institutions on Visa Barriers

In this paper we are interested in two specific dimensions of sending countries' characteristics ——- national institutions, being separated in formal and informal once. In the previous literature the analysis of national institutions affecting the mapping of today's visa regimes is gapping. In order to find answers to what visa regimes are affected by, we made a research that tend to shed light on the influence of national institutions on visas. The results that have been shown lead to answers and questions. We have found that national formal institutions are highly significant when hosting countries decide on their foreign policies and obligatory or free visa regimes. The idea about nationa institutions of two types, that implement rules and provide services has also been proven, which additionally underline and specify the way that formal institutions affect its country's visa regimes being implemented towards other countries around the world.
