Abstract

In this research, we studied the specifics of the work of court reporters covering political processes in modern Russia. We have identified the factors that affect

the work of journalists and, having examined the features of the functioning of the media in the USSR and post-Soviet Russia, established similarities in the nature of the work. Considering the absence of an independent and objective court in Russia, the role of journalists telling about the activities of the court and law enforcement bodies is especially important. Thus, the judicial reporter defends the rights of society to receive reliable information. Based on the opinions of experts and various papers, we found that, given certain factors, it is likely that the journalist performs several other important functions needed in the face of the growing number of political processes in modern Russia. Although direct evidence is hardly possible to reveal, we described a number of indirect evidence that the work of a journalist can influence the course and the outcome of a political process.
