Transformation of the Author's Role in the Digital Age
In this research, the author describes the process of transforming the author's role in the digital age, and also reveals the main distinctive features of the authors of the new format. The study identified the main problems of publishers of the 21st century in Russia: a decreased interest in reading, a drop in circulation. Consequently, the need for a case-analysis of examples of successful experience in self-publishing and interviews with book industry experts. The main conclusion is that the role of the author has definitely been transformed, because the author is a writer, publisher and marketer in one person.
