The Problem of Evil in Kant`s and M. Bulgakov`s Philosophy: the Parallels

Student: Diagileva Anastasiia

Supervisor: Vladimir Kantor

Faculty: Faculty of Humanities

Educational Programme: Philosophy (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2017

The aim of the study is to study the question of the original evil in human nature and, in accordance with this, the change in the way of thinking in a person. Objectives of the study: - to study the novel of Mikhail Bulgakov and the author's attitude to the religious question; - to trace changes in Russian religious thought with regard to the question of faith; - consider the Kantian interpretation of the moral basis of religion; - to analyze the influence of Kant on subsequent teachings about religion. Research Methodology. To conduct this research, I use different theoretical methods. First of all, I study and generalize the materials used, and then I conduct a theoretical analysis of literary sources. I also try to synthesize all the works I found and find the main idea in these works, their similarities and differences from each other. Thus, I used a theoretical methodology, such as analysis, comparison, synthesis and classification of articles and philosophical works. The main conclusions of the study can be formulated as follows: - a person is not kind and not angry at birth; - the choice in favor of good or evil is determined by society and, to a greater extent, by human thoughts; - religion can not be a motivation for moral actions for a person and the whole society, but can participate in the formation, formation of moral consciousness; - the beginnings of moral consciousness are in everyone.
