Project Portfolio Management Implementation in Oil and Gas Company

The project management level of companies in the oil and gas sector allows forming the project portfolio that meets the organization's strategy and provides business objectives achievement. This stage is interesting to study because it has not been studied enough in practice due to the lack of access to management practices in the enterprise. The aim of this paper is to reduce knowledge gaps in portfolio management practices in oil and gas industry by setting a project of portfolio management implementation in the subsidiary enterprise of the global Oil and Gas Company. The use of the case study method, represented by focused interviews and questionnaires, made it possible to evaluate the project maturity level of the company, to identify problems and issues for project management development in the given enterprise. As a result, a project to implement portfolio management in the selected organization was prepared. The scientific novelty of the work involves applying some principles of portfolio management as a tool for optimizing the company’s project performance. In future research, it is possible to measure the impact of portfolio management practices on the main project results.
