Computer Programme as an Item Subject to Copyright

The topic of the present research paper is legal regulation of a computer programme as an item subject to copyright. The number of pages in the paper is 70. 60 sources were used in the present research including: legal acts, materials of judicial practice, scientific articles, books and magazines. The object of the research is public relations arising in a process of legal regulation of a computer programme as an item subject to copyright. The subject of the research is the civil standards of Russian law, which govern copyright protection of a computer programme. The main aim of the paper is comprehensive research of a computer programme as an item subject to copyright. To be more precise, the paper provides a detailed investigation of some specific aspects connected with legal protection of a computer programme. Moreover, a significant part of the paper is devoted to identification and analysis of conflicts in national sources of law, which control copyright protection of a computer programme. It should be stressed that nowadays computerization of daily life and development of computer technologies increase rapidly. This leads to a variety of legal issues connected with the regulation of this system. In this paper, the following research methods are utilized: a method of comparative law, a method of research study, a formal legal method and some others, which will be specified in the main body of the paper. The methods employed in the research consist of some particular steps that will help to analyze the development of legal aspects of the topic and to compare standards of law in different legal sources governing the protection of a computer programme as an item subject to copyright. The results and findings of this work include detailed analysis of legal conflicts caused by different copyright law regulations in national legal sources and the ways of their solution.
