Construction of the Image of Man in Russian Women's Glossy Magazines

At the present time, the media are part of the process of reproduction of social reality. Reacting to the numerous social changes taking place in society, they reproduce patterns of behavior and norms. Including, the images of men and women, broadcasted by women's glossy magazines, change, which is especially significant against the background of the crisis of masculinity. Women are more sensitive to change, and are agents of gender socialization, changing the standards of relationships with men, thereby transforming male gender identity. Using the strategy of mixed methods, the image of a man, designed in Russian women's glossy magazines, was analyzed. In addition, it was revealed how men portrayed in magazines are perceived by people, as well as the image of the ideal man was analized.
