Kurds (Al-Akrād) in Medieval Arabic Sources (11th-13th Centuries)

This work studies the history of the Kurdish people in the XI-XIII centuries. Aimed at revealing the basic meanings of the term "Kurds" (al-akrād) in the studied period the author considered geographic and historical data about the Kurds in medieval Arabic sources, as well as scientific literature. Based on the analysis of examples of the use of the term in the sources, the study reveals the main meanings of the word "Kurds" which allow us to identify the categories of the population that were known by this term.
