At the result of the financial crisis that broke in the US and other Western countries in late 2008, there was a serious concern about its impact on the developing economies. Despite strong and well planned banking system and large foreign reserves China was not at the epicenter of the crises as opposed to Europe and the United States. However, the financial crisis had a huge impact on the Chinese economy and transport industry as well. Since the beginning of XIX century, Chinese transport industry was apostatized and adapted to a new economic environment. The purpose of this research is to outline the options of policy response by China’s government in transport areas, specifically in railway infrastructure. To explore the issue, we use secondary data and existing methods of analysis. In our research, we explore different crisis scenarios that may appear in China in XXI century and may have an influence on Chinese railway infrastructure. Besides, we hope to bring a new light on the issue and come up with unexpected outcomes. Key words: transport, world financial crisis, China, Chinese Railway industry, the world economic crisis.
