Scope and Prospects of Integration in the League of Arab States

The League of Arab States is a union of 22 Arab states. For its long history, this organization has tried, in line with solving of political problems, to stimulate economic cooperation between participating countries. This work aims to explore the members' attempts in creation organizations for economic cooperation within the framework of the Arab League, as well as to analyze the prospects for economic integration between countries. To do this, we conducted research using econometric analysis of competitiveness factors highlighted in Porter's theory to determine their influence on the volume of international trade by building multiple regression. The results obtained in this study will help assess the prospects for economic cooperation within the LAS as well as cooperation of its participants with Russia. Moreover, the analysis of economic integration factors will help to identify the directions in which it is necessary to work to create an advantageous environment for economic integration.
