Nationalist Ideology in Korean Independence Movement

The study examines nationalist ideology in Korean independence movement during Japanese protectorate (1905-1910) and colonial regime (1910-1945). The establishment of the protectorate and the colonial regime resulted in the formation of the independence movement, the most important part of which was nationalist ideology. Korean nationalism, which appeared as a result of Japanese aggression, still plays a crucial role in the political and social life of the states of the Korean peninsula. The aim of the work is to reveal the specificity and influence of nationalist ideology in the anti-Japanese movement of Korea. Thus, the author examined the different approaches to the study of nationalism, the reasons for the emergence of nationalist ideology in Korea, the features of the nationalist ideology and goals of Korean nationalists during the years of the protectorate and the colonial regime, the influence of nationalist ideology on the social and political life of modern South Korea and the DPRK.
