This paper analyzes the possibility of apllication of Kant's concept of matter to the explication of the structural moments of Kant's teaching of being as a modal concept. It is shown that Kant's restriction of the application of pure concepts outside the sphere of possible expirience leads to the necessity of tematisation of non-objective source of the possible predicates of the expirience itself, and that this task is also performed by Kant on the basis of the concept of matter. On the basis of Schelling's critique and his agruments in favour of possibility of an alternative solution of this problem the problematic moments of Kant's teaching of matter are explicated.
