In this paper, the relationship between the Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is analyzed in terms of their response to events of regional and international importance. It is shown that Hamas, being a branch of the MB in Palestine, does not always conduct a common policy with the MB demonstrating its autonomy from the parent organization. In addition, the views of Hamas leaders differ from the ideology of the "Muslim Brotherhood" on some issues. This study is one of the first attempts in Russian oriental studies to examine the dynamics of relations between the Egyptian and Palestinian branches of the MB organization from 1945 to 2011. Proceeding from the fact that both movements in the late 20th-early 21th centuries were the most active participants not only in Egypt and Palestine, but also in the Middle East region, we can say that regional policy without the activities of these organizations is not conceivable.
