The dissertation explores Ukrainian youth’s national and civic identities transformation in conditions of political crisis (2013-2014). On the basis of native and foreign publications analysis a research toolset for pilot study was constructed. It included questionnaire survey and expert interviews. Identity dynamics, observed in the survey results, was interpreted according to the research literature and expert comments. We make a conclusion about the system of identification orientations diffusion as a result of political crisis. This diffusion became a reason of primordial national identity components actualization as the most evident and stable. We also state a significant media influence on national and civic identifications. Changes in the structure of the latter show declarative civic self-consciousness’ intensification combined with real estrangement from the state, caused by worsened life conditions.
