Spatial Features of the Migration of the Elderly in Russia (According to Censuses 2010)

The master's thesis is devoted to the analysis of territorial features of migration of the population of elderly ages in Russia. Based on the data constructed on the basis of the materials of the All-Russia Population Census of 2010, the age and sex structure of persons aged 50 and older in interregional and intraregional migration flows will be revealed. The main directions of movement have been identified, the regions of donors and recipients have been identified. To date, the aging of the population is accelerating in the developed countries, the expected duration of healthy life is increasing, welfare is growing, social behavior is changing, which leads to a change in the attitudes of older people, and the importance of migration is growing. Significant transformation of models of socio-demographic behavior of the elderly gave impetus, which led to the emergence of interest in the topic of mobility in the older age group among Western researchers. Our research is designed to prove the existence of migration of the elderly in Russia, and to trace its regional differentiation. The subject of the study in the present study is the internal Russian migrants of the elderly (50+) The subject of the study is the spatial mobility of elderly people in the context of regions and municipalities in Russia. The purpose of the study is to identify the territorial features of the mobility of the elderly population, in administrative entities of different levels, based on the 2010 population census data.
