This thesis deals with the ASEAN and Russia relations. The primary objective of this thesis is to find out the recent development, future potential economically between ASEAN and Russia cooperation, and the kind of difficulties it may face in a midway. Since Russia has become an official dialogue partner with ASEAN in 1996, ASEAN and Russia has its upside-down situation. As for the theoretical aspect, international cooperation theory, and international cooperation effectiveness concept theory is discussed. The information and literature needed for the thesis will be collected from open source, which is easily accessible to all. After analyzing the historical background, present development and future prospect, I think ASEAN and Russia are turning out still has a lot of potentials which has not been maximized.
