Analysis of the Effectiveness of Russian Companies' IPO

The work reviewed the features of IPO by Russian companies and the factors influencing its effectiveness. In particular, the author estimated the companies’ success of entering foreign markets by using the method of event analysis. The method gave the opportunity to study the additional profitability arising in the stock market in connection with the issuing of depositary receipts and its announcement in the short run. The model application’s results showed the market’s positive reaction to the cross listing on the 2nd and 3rd days after this event. Moreover, the planning release news demonstrated the improvement of the negative trend of decreasing average profitability only for some companies.
