Educational Programme: Information Security Management (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2017

Master's dissertation is devoted to the investigation of the cryptographic stability of systems of quantum cryptography with phase coding. Attention is drawn to the problems of practical implementation of quantum cryptography within Russia in relation to other countries. Questions related to quantum information theory are considered, which in turn influence the implementation of quantum cryptography, which has come up against a number of technological and methodological complexities, including the difficulties in quantum key distribution, quantum computation, the lack of completeness of quantum information theory, and others. In practical implementation, as a rule, rather weak laser pulses are used, which are conveniently described by coherent quantum states. And in itself, laser radiation always represents the Poisson distribution relative to the number of photons. Single photons are a vulnerability in terms of intercepting an enemy with a division by the number of photons (PNS-attack). The scientific significance of the master's dissertation is the possibility of implementing quantum cryptography, taking into account the emerging technological and methodological problems and taking into account the foreign approach.

Student Theses at HSE must be completed in accordance with the University Rules and regulations specified by each educational programme.

Summaries of all theses must be published and made freely available on the HSE website.

The full text of a thesis can be published in open access on the HSE website only if the authoring student (copyright holder) agrees, or, if the thesis was written by a team of students, if all the co-authors (copyright holders) agree. After a thesis is published on the HSE website, it obtains the status of an online publication.

Student theses are objects of copyright and their use is subject to limitations in accordance with the Russian Federation’s law on intellectual property.

In the event that a thesis is quoted or otherwise used, reference to the author’s name and the source of quotation is required.
