Analysis of the Shale Gas Impact on the Gas Markets Regionalization

This paper examines the impact of shale gas and liquefied natural gas on the dynamics of gas markets. The relevance of the work is high, due to the constant dynamic processes at the regional gas markets, as well as the necessity of integration of the Russian Federation into modern realities (in particular, the growth of the liquefied natural gas market and shale revolution). In the context of work analysis of the dynamics of gas markets; study of phenomenon of development of LNG; analysis of the impact of LNG on the dynamics of gas supply; the study of the history of the use of senseaware gas, challenges and prospects; analysis of the current situation on gas markets in North America, Europe and Asia were carried out.

The theoretical basis of the paper is the framework of the new institutional theory. Based on the study an econometric model was tested, as well as the model of Cournot competition and Stackelberg competition, which revealed the impact of important variables in the North American gas market.
