In this work we substantiate the choice of an optical sensor for a monitoring system. An analysis of the transfer characteristic and the transfer function is carried out. The development and study of the model of the transfer characteristic of the optical sensor of the system for controlling the axial displacement of the tape is carried out. The reliability of the control system is calculated.
