Determinants and Hurdles in Active Participation of Students of Russian Universities in Volunteering

The purpose of this study is to reveal the determinants and hurdles in active participation of students of Russian universities in volunteering via nonprofit organization. The author surveyed 129 senior students of Higher School of Economics, enrolled on academic programs of Public Administration, Sociology, and Management. After the obtained data was analyzed, it was determined that the strongest predictors of students'volunteering behavior are the participation of their parents or friends in volunteering.
