Development of a Laboratory Stand and Operations Manual for Basic Works on RF and Microwave Devices

Student: Volkov Aleksey

Supervisor: Lev M. Sambursky

Faculty: HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics (MIEM HSE)

Educational Programme: Infocommunication Technologies and Systems (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 9

Year of Graduation: 2017

In this work there was developed a stand and instructions for laboratory work devot-ed to design, fabrication and measurement of the characteristics of a ladder microwave filter. In the process of performing the work, the following tasks were accomplished: • the electric circuit of the filter is developed; • the layout of the filter circuit board is developed and implemented; • the electrical characteristics of the filter were measured; • an electronic version of the guidelines were developed. The novelty of the work is the combination within the framework of laboratory work of three different types of activities in the field of microwave design: designing using CAD, prototyping, measurement of electrical characteristics. The laboratory stand and instructions can be used in the framework of a laboratory workshop on courses related to the design of high-frequency components of infocommunication systems.
