The author analyzes the essence and specificity of freedom of conscience and religion from the standpoint of philosophy and law, its importance and relevance in history and at the present stage, conducts comparative analysis of religious interpretation of freedom of conscience and religion in Christian and non-Christian cultures, and also considers law enforcement practice of public authorities and religious communities in the implementation of religious rights and freedoms of man and citizen.
