Legal Aspects of Employment of People with Disabilities in Sports Organizations

D.S. Grigorieva Legal aspects of employment of people with disabilities in sports organizations. This graduate paper is aimed the problems of finding employment for disabled people, to try to find solutions to such problems, and to assess the legal consequences of the conflict of the Russian Paralympic Team's suspension from the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. The main objectives of the paper are: a) stating the most acute problems of employment of disabled people in sports; b) evaluation of the effectiveness of the proposed solutions; c) legal analysis of the conflict of the removal of the Russian Paralympic Team of Russia from the Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016; d) evaluation of the consequences of the conflict; e) summarizing and formulating the conclusions necessary for further investigation of this problem. Based on this research the following conclusions were made: firstly, the employment of disabled athletes has its own specifics, since athletes with disabilities are a special category of citizens under Russian labor legislation; secondly, with sportsmen with disabilities who participate in sports competitions as individual athletes, both labor contracts and civil-law contracts can be concluded; thirdly, labor contracts and civil-law contracts differ in the subject, i.e. Labor function, payment, responsibility and many other features; fourthly, physical training is one of the most effective ways of rehabilitation of disabled people, which gives hope for the development of disabled sports in Russia to a new level.
