Philosophical Conceptions of Cultural Development: Evolutionism and Relativism

The study contains the leading conceptions of cultural development, originating from early anthropologial thought. The first part of the work is dedicated to analysing those concepts, as they appear in evolutionist, relativist and functionalist approaches in anthropology. The second part contains different versions of theoretical and practical critique of conceptions of cultural development.
