A.A. Akateva The interaction of religion and law in modern society: problems and ways of solving them The purpose of the study is to determine the relationship between legal and religious norms, the ways of their interaction in modern society. The main objectives of this study are: a) consideration of the basic concepts of human rights and freedoms in the religions of the world, b) the disclosure of the determining human rights and freedoms in Islam and Islamic law, c) the study and assessment of human rights and freedoms in Christianity and in canon law , d) the definition of human rights and freedoms in Buddhism. On the basis of the study, the following conclusions are drawn: first, religious thought does not fully correspond to the starting point of the legal concept of human rights; The views of classical religions on the one hand act in accordance with certain provisions of international legal documents on human rights. But despite this, on the other hand, there are irreconcilable differences expressing their one-sided view of human rights, which is of fundamental importance in the liberal legal Evaluation; At present, the topic of human rights is at the center of complex problems and even conflicts that accompany the emergence and rapid growth of Islamist trends in the West; In any system, there may be contradictions, sometimes representing a threat to the very existence of a single whole. And the human rights system is no exception. Academic Supervisor: D.V. Mazaev, associate professor of the department of theory and history of law, deputy dean for work with graduates and employers of the faculty of law of the National Research University "Higher School of Economics".
