Promoting the Commercialization of Scientific and Technological Results: Theory and Practice

The paper studies the issues related to commercialization based on the cosmetics industry case. The methodology includes interview session with the industry experts. It shows that not only traditional direct and indirect factors influence commercialization. Social and marketing factors appear nearly important when commercializing scientific results. The obtained results from the interviews of experts on the Russian market (R&D specialists, chemists, technologists, purchase managers, sales managers) have shown the same tendency which is typical for the other geographical markets. This confirmation revealed the general trend to more customer-oriented business, which is influenced by the social and marketing conditions.
