Image of a Tourist Destination: the Case of Riga

This master's thesis represents the study of the image of Riga as a tourist destination. Destinations depend on their image for their success in attracting tourists, that is why identifying factors which influence the image of Riga perceived by tourists is important for enhancing the competitiveness of the destination and developing it's economy. As a result of theoretical and empirical study, which included analysis of academic papers about destination and it's image, description of tourist services and resources of Riga, analysis of the Competitiveness of Riga as a tourism destination, conduction of online survey of 206 tourists from Russia and quantitative data analysis in STATA 14.1 and SPSS 22.0 these factors were identified by the author of the Master's thesis.
