Educational Programme: System and Software Engineering (Master)

Final Grade: 7

Year of Graduation: 2017

This masterwork is dedicated to implementation of inter process communication technology based on domain-specific language. The work includes a short overview of existing technologies and analysis of problems of interprocess communication domain. The concept of proposed technology based on two principles: high-level user interface like Remote Procedure Call (RPC) technology and interpreted layer to declare communication logic. The architecture of proposed solution aims to increase flexibility, extendibility and to unify the technology usage. The solution is written in Lua language and the Lua is used as basis for internal DSL which is used for communication interface definition and communication logic implementation as well. The work includes the solution binding for C++, describe the extensions point of the system and components system for extensions management, set of components for network communication, including TCP, UDP connectors and text based JSON protocol. The workability of the system is checked using tests (smoke, stress, performance) and examples (custom type extension, HTTP extension). The result of work is high-level technology for interprocess communication with a good extending opportunities, flexible architecture and universal communication layer.
