Legal Regulation of the Circulation of Foreign Financial Instruments in the Russian Federation

This master's paper, entitled "Legal Regulation of the Circulation of Foreign Financial Instruments in the Russian Federation" touches upon a very urgent topic our investors meet in course of investing money in foreign financial instruments, in particular securities and derivatives of foreign issuers. The main target of this work, firstly, is to provide the legal analysis on financial instruments in the Russian Federation ; secondly, to study international legislation in this particular field. The paper consists of two chapters. The first chapter deals with the classification and types of foreign securities and derivatives. The second comprises of three parts: the legal and organizational grounds for the circulation of foreign financial instruments in Russia; the international legal regulation of the circulation of foreign financial instruments: cross-border ownership of securities and cross-border transmission of securities, the General agreement ISDA. The circulation of foreign financial instruments on the Russian stock market is regulated partially and requires significant amendments. Our legislation requires the expansion of the following terms: "securities" and "derivative financial instruments". Since it entails a huge problem in foreign financial instruments qualification.
