Russia’s image in Taiwan (1991-2017)

In the era of globalization, the interdependence of countries is deepening. The interpretation of the image of a country by the international community has become an important factor affecting the relationships between nations. A good image of the country not only enhances the international influence of a country, but also enhances the cohesiveness of its own public. In order to strengthen relations with Asian countries, Russia attaches great importance to cultural diffusion and devotes to create a positive image of the country. This paper uses the perspective of “The Russian soft power toward Taiwan” as the starting point to reflect the factors that influence Russia's formation in Taiwan's national image and explores the image of Russia in Taiwan. Through the document analysis and the results of questionnaire survey we can have learned that Russia successfully exhibits its cultural attraction to the Taiwanese people, conveys its cultural spirit and build its national image.
