Faculty: Faculty of Social Sciences

Educational Programme: Psychology (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2017

The subject of this study is forgiveness as a complex psychological phenomenon. Surprisingly, in Russia where great attention is paid to such phenomena as authenticity, justice, morality, forgiveness has not been studied practically in the field of morality psychology or personal psychology. Thus, little research has been conducted to define forgiveness in Russia. This study is devoted to the empirical ability to forgive - namely what makes a person be able to overestimate, reflect and separate from unfair or traumatic situations and experience. Following methods had been used: "Heartland Forgiveness Scale, HFS" (Thompson/Snyder, 2002) and “The Forgiveness Likelihood Scale” (Rye et al., 1998). This study is the first to provide prospective on dispositional and empirical abilities to forgive.
