This paper will focus on the foundations and applications of decision-making theory. Research on machine learning has greatly improved performance of computer systems, which have the ability to learn without being explicitly programmed. Decision-making algorithms is widely applied in these systems. However, there is a need for a reliable and valid instrument, grounded in a theoretical framework, which can demonstrate and analyze efficiency of decision-making algorithms in these systems. Thus, in this research, I aim to describe historical development and construct an effective program system to illustrate advantages of using decision-making algorithms in machine learning. This work consists of 40 pages, 12 pictures, 1 table and 9 references.

Student Theses at HSE must be completed in accordance with the University Rules and regulations specified by each educational programme.

Summaries of all theses must be published and made freely available on the HSE website.
