Evaluation of Interview Method Influence on Distortion in Respondents' Answers on the Questions about Attitudes and Behavior: Cognitive Analysis

The research is dedicated to the evaluation of interview method influence on respondent's answers, especially to the influence of telephone interview CATI in comparison with personal interview. This influence is studied in the context of "mode effect". There is also a comparison of two groups of political questions: attitudinal and behavioural. Cognitive analysis is carried out to evaluate the influnce. Particularly, criteria of time and behavioural coding is used. The findings indicate that respondent's answers are affected by different survey methods. Also you may reach the explanation of this affect from the theoretical perspective.
