Year of Graduation: 2017

Our study on music fans, their structure and content of psychological well-being showed that significant differences in the sense of subjective well-being between groups of fans, fans and non-fans by the methods of K. Riff and S. Lubomirski were not found. Significant differences were found by the technique of E. Diner: fans and fans are less prosperous than non-fans. In order to see the differences in the emotional characteristics of the representatives of the fan group and the group of fans, we used a scale of positive and negative affects, according to which it turned out that the musical fans have an advantage of negative affect, and differences from the fans. Next, we conducted a qualitative study in which we interviewed 20 young people, aged 16 to 25 years. Based on the results of the content analysis of the interviews, we were able to see the content of psychological well-being among respondents who identify themselves with music fans and in a group of non-fans. As the analysis has shown, the fans, indeed, have a semantic content different from non-fans with the concept of happiness. At the same time, the content of the answers in the interview of the respondents of the fan group shows that even those areas that are not directly related to their hobby are indirectly related to them. An analysis of the interview with non-fans showed that the indicator "health" is equally important in both groups of subjects, which refutes earlier studies, according to which it was alleged that the physical health sphere has a low correlation with the notions of well-being and happiness.
