Implementation of Category Management in Purchasing on the Example of PJSC "Tatneft"

Under the pressure of modern economic and political tendencies companies are using different tools enabling to cut purchasing costs and to increase efficiency of purchasing business processes. One of the tools actively used by many companies of various industries is category management in purchasing. Development of category strategies and application of relevant tools for various categories of material and technical resources creates an opportunity to reduce materially procurement costs. The aim of current master’s thesis is to improve modern concept of category management in purchasing and to provide rationale of the usage of different methods and tools for category management implementation. The object of current master’s thesis is Russian oil company. In the following master’s thesis the analysis of modern category management development strategies methods is held, increasing the number of tools in terms of category management strategy realization using A.T. Kearney method is offered. Category strategy and align tools for managing category of oil well tubing is offered. Efficiency calculation from the usage of offered category strategy tool is made.
