Management of Personal Data Security in the Sim Card Using the PKI Technology

The topic of the diploma work is - "Management of Personal Data Security in the Sim Card Using the PKI Technology». The key words of the final qualifying work are: Sim card, data protection, PKI. The object of the project research is the Sim card. The subject of the study is the PKI (public key infrastructure). The diploma project is presented on 58 pages, includes 3 tables, 16 figures, 37 literature sources. In the introduction, the relevance of the topic is substantiated, the goal of writing the final qualifying work is set, and the research tasks are determined. In the first chapter of the graduation project, the theoretical foundations of the study are considered, in particular, the concept of Sim-card is given, storage of data on the Sim card and data security are described. The second chapter describes the methods, tools and methods used by hackers to obtain unauthorized access to personal data located in the Sim card or databases of mobile operators and SIM card manufacturers. In particular, the methods related to the most well-known hacking practices will be considered, then, based on the listed tools, hacking scenarios will be described to demonstrate how a hacker can access the Sim card. In the third chapter, based on the analysis, I will thoroughly supplement and design the existing model of PKI technology, only specifically for Sim cards, which will also significantly improve the security level of Sim cards, thereby reducing the number of hacking. In particular, the current PKI technology will be analyzed, the necessary conditions for the use of PKI in SIM cards will be described, the architecture of the diploma project will be designed and described, and also possible security threats after implementation will be analyzed. The conclusion contains the main conclusions and a proposal on the effectiveness of using the proposed designed solution for implementing PKI for Sim cards.
