With rapid economic growth, China’s domestic energy production is no longer meeting the voracious appetite for energy resources, putting China’s energy economy and society in danger in the framework of unbalanced energy supply and demand circumstance. China puts emphasis on foreign energy cooperation, expanding energy diplomacy with energy producing countries to build up energy cooperation, constructing land-based energy transport pipeline, and exploring new oilfields so as to ensure the diversification of national energy supplies. This thesis is dedicated to analyze Sino-Russian energy cooperation, which is contributing to ease China’s energy dilemma. Russia, with the advantage of geography, and the complementary features of resources and market, it helps making up for the China’s plight of excessive concentration of energy suppliers and avert the threat of impeding energy transit. The bilateral cooperation will bring enormous economic benefits and strengthen national securities for the two sides. Although frictions and conflicts still exist in bilateral energy cooperation, it has always been moving towards to a stable development and deepening energy relations on the positive aspect.
