This paper attempts to show how to write and build investment proposal for an innovative project and what difficulties hinder to do it in an appropriate way. This research was carried out using two main methods: literature review and case study. The theoretical study lets us confirm the predicted relationship between a type of innovative project and the approach of obtaining investments. Also, the analysis of papers about the nature and definitions of innovations demonstrates that theorists examine and solve this problem in different ways. Investigation of official documents of venture funds and state programs concerning startups shows various requirements and rules to the construction and presentation of investment proposal according to a certain potential investor. The empirical research of a specific case let me understand what problems, external and internal factors a project can face with in reality attempting to get investments. The data was collected in a resident company of scientific and technological complex “Technopark Sarov”. Obtained results will be used by team of an innovative project in order to get the frst round of investments.
