Analysis and Modelling of the Interrelation Between Innovation Development and Socio-Economic Indicators

Innovations, be they new products or technology improvements, are widely recognized as a main factor of development of population. The problem is to estimate the interrelation between innovation and economic and social indicators of development in regions of Russia. The approach to problem-solving is based on the use of different methods of statistical analysis of multi-dimensional data. Regressions with panel data determine the relationship between innovation factors and the technology export, as well as cluster analysis, which is used to separate regions of Russia into groups depending on the level of the budget income and the quality of the strategies of regions. Also it is used binary choice models such as probit-, logit-, gompit-model to estimate the influence of different factors on innovation activity of organizations. The object of the study is innovation indicators and socio-economic factors in Russia and the subject of research is the factors affecting the socio-economic indicators and innovation. The results show that there are two types of regions and there is the relationship between innovation and indicators of social-economic development.
