The Bank of Russia and private organizations analyze the perception of inflationary processes within the framework of the core business. Such an analysis is necessary, because the subjective opinion of the population about the level of inflation has a significant impact on many indicators. Measures of the monetary policy of the Bank of Russia depend on how the population perceives the dynamics of prices. The Central Bank of Russia within the framework of monetary policy assesses inflation expectations through survey data. In this paper, an analysis of the Public Opinion Foundation's surveys on current information is conducted. 5 types and 15 subtypes of the Russian population, divided by socio-demographic characteristics, are considered. Differences in perception of wealthy and low-income groups are revealed.
