Business Process Management Applications of Reputation Models

This thesis focuses on application of reputation models in company’s business-process management, specifically for choosing an efficient business-partner. The paper consists of 57 pages and includes 15 pictures and 3 tables. The 35 sources were used while conducting the paper. The main purpose of the study is to estimate the limits of application of reputation models in efficient selecting business-partners. In order to achieve the set aim, it is essential to execute the list of tasks, consisting of researching the existing reputation models with the aim of determining the most suitable one for the problem, estimating the limits of application of the chosen model, and, finally, outlining the possible way of implementation of the model. The paper consists of the several sections. After the introduction in which the problem of selecting a business-partner is stated follows the first part which consists of the literature review. The second part of the paper covers the description of the real application of reputation models and reputation systems, possible threats for the reputation systems and the conclusion for this part. The third part focuses on the practical ways of the implementation of the chosen model and covers the conclusion on the gained results. The final conclusion describes the overall results of the research and raises the need for further studying on the topic. The paper describes the benefits of the chosen model and illustrates the possible way of its usage in the field of the proposed hypothetical situation and downloaded and adapted dataset. What is more, the possible framework of the information system for automation the process of computing the reputation values was developed through the practical part of the paper. Finally, the process of functioning of the mentioned reputation system was performed using the notation eEPC and the software package Microsoft Visio.
