Statistical Analysis of Unemployment in the Russian Federation

The work is devoted to a statistical analysis of the unemployment in the Russian Federation. The unemployment rate is one of the most significant indicators of the economic situation in the country. In connection with the economic crisis that erupted in the Russian Federation in 2014, the unemployment rate analysis in our country is of particular relevance and importance as it is the key indicator of the labor market performance and the main threat of its destabilization. Graduation thesis consists of an introduction, three chapters, conclusion, references and appendices. The introduction defines the relevance, aim and objectives of the study. The first chapter contains an analysis of unemployment characteristics as an object of statistical research and a review of the existing studies on the problem of unemployment. The second chapter presents thorough analysis of the unemployment rate dynamics on the basis of which the time series modeling and forecasting is implemented. In the third chapter, a list of potential factors influencing the unemployment rate is determined, after which its key determinants are revealed within the correlation-regression and factor analysis. In conclusion the main inferences of the study are presented.
