Automation of Data Quality Monitoring Process in XXX Company

This paper addresses the improvement of data quality monitoring processes in e-commerce company and based on a real project of XXX-company. The purpose of this research is to improve the process of data quality governance by means of data monitoring process automation. This purpose has been achieved by implementing several steps. In the first part of this paper definition to data quality has been given and different approaches to data quality monitoring process have been observed. In the second part, the data quality monitoring process has been analyzed within the company and some week points of this process were described. Then it was given a solution to improve data quality monitoring process by means of developing data consistency monitoring system. As result, functional and non-functional requirements for this system were identified and a technical task document was developed in accordance with the Russian State Standard (GOST) 34.602-89. Finally, in the third part it was described how the development of the system affected the results of the company. The professional significance of this work consists of improving the data quality governance to meet needs of business departments of the company XXX.
